by Nora Ferrante
About the Author

"We Learned Our Colors in School Today" is the result of the year-long Honors Senior Thesis project at Wakefield School in The Plains, Virginia, USA. Nora Ferrante, an impassioned proponent for social justice and change, chose to examine institutional racism in American education in the hopes that her study might help facilitate some of the uncomfortable conversations that must be had if this problem is to be combated. Nora Ferrante hopes to continue fighting for change at her next destination, Dickinson College '22, and throughout her adult life.
